Our Founder

Sebenzile Mkhize

Wholehearted Seeds was planted in the founder’s life long before it became a programme.

She grew up receiving values, truths and guidance that, at the time, felt small and ordinary simple conversations, quiet corrections, moments of faith, lessons that didn’t always make sense yet. But those early deposits became seeds. Years later, in seasons of stretching, uncertainty and becoming, they surfaced as identity, dignity, conviction and direction. That lived experience is the foundation of this work.

Before she ever taught a girl, she was that girl. Navigating questions of worth, voice, purpose and belonging. The seeds planted in her formative years became the anchor that held her steady, shaping not only who she became, but how she now shows up for others.

In 2015, she launched her first girls’ initiative, then known as Flourish Girls’ Camp. It was simple and unpolished, yet deeply intentional. A beginning that marked the first outward expression of what had long been growing within. Girls gathered to learn about identity, wellbeing and purpose, often encountering for the first time the truth that who they are matters

In the years that followed, the programme entered a season of pause. What appeared outwardly as a break was, in truth, a time of deep and hidden work. God continued refining the heart, reshaping the vision and allowing it to take root more fully in the founder before it could be poured out again. The soil was being prepared.

From that season emerged Wholehearted Seeds.

The name reflects a core belief: before we flourish, we are seeds meant to be planted, nurtured and watered. Growth begins in the unseen, in the soil, in the roots, in the inner work no one else sees. This is where Wholehearted Seeds chooses to focus. Because who a girl becomes on the inside is what she carries for life.

Careers will change. Circumstances will shift. Plans may rise and fall. But identity, character and truth endure.

Wholehearted Seeds is born from this lived conviction: that one seed, planted at the right time, can shape a lifetime. And that when girls are rooted in truth, they grow into women who carry it forward with strength, clarity and purpose.
